The Hunter
Posted : 16 years, 5 months ago on 3 August 2008 03:20 (A review of The Hunter: A Parker Novel (Parker Novels))You know what makes for a great story? Dragons. Well, this book, for some reason, has no dragons in it yet still manages to be an amazing read. This is the first in the amazing series featuring the career criminal known only as Parker. Donald Westlake, a famous mystery writer, goes by the name Richard Stark when he writes the Parker books. Why? I don't know. Is he ashamed? He shouldn't be. Because these books are the best shit he writes. By the way, this book is the basis for both Point Blank and Payback.

Ask the Parrot
Posted : 16 years, 5 months ago on 3 August 2008 03:19 (A review of Ask The Parrot)Parrots are awesome. Seriously, any animal that can talk is pretty damn cool. Like Parrots. And Humans. And I think Crickets, who chirp in Morse code. But that's it. But here's a twist: This book has a parrot that doesn't talk! Did you see that one coming? I bet you didn't. Because the title of the book is "Ask the Parrot," which leads you to believe some Parrot-on-human dialogue is going to happen. Sorry to piss on your parade float, but that's not going to happen. But there is a chapter from the perspective of the parrot, which you have to admit, is pretty cool. Oh, and there's lots of the usual crime and killing that are always in the Parker books.
